this is why i have almost no photographs of me, my friends, or fun things i’ve done – as much as i’d like a record of my life, i’d rather experience it than stop in the middle of something great to take pictures. i can’t imagine standing still enough to record a rock show unless it totally sucked.

yo! i recently felt what you described when i saw the skatalites live here in buenos aires. i hadnt heard a lot of their solo stuff before the concert, but i knew they had played with several reggae ‘superstars’ in the past. the concert was amazing .. the venue was fairly small but packed. towards the end i was all the way in the back, pressed up against the wall…which at first proved to be uncomfortable, but as the concert went on, i realized it was the perfect place to be. i was a part of the crowd but because i was standing behind everyone i had the chance to see the energy…to see everyones hands in the air waving at the same time, and to see everyone nodding their heads to the rhythm..perfectly on beat. i left the show tired, sore, sweaty, and smelly…to simply say it was worth it, would be a huge understatement.

I think the song is Tourettes…

And this post is exactly why I’ve been almost totally uninterested in radio since I left high school (except talk radio). It’s never been a reliable way of finding good music… worthwhile stuff never gets handed to you, you have to search for it, feel like you earned it.
